Example: A valve body controller electromagnet lacks a positioner function.
The valve body relies on the coil being energized to attract the armature, which in turn pushes the valve core away from its initial position and into its working position. When the coil is de-energized, the valve core returns to its initial position due to the action of the return spring. To maintain the valve core in its working position, the coil must be continuously energized. Therefore, conventional electromagnets have high energy consumption. In addition, ordinary electromagnets have poor safety and reliability. In the event of sudden power loss or voltage drop, the coil of the electromagnet will suddenly lose power, causing the valve's connectivity and working state to suddenly change, resulting in malfunctions and accidents.
Add permanent magnet latch mechanism:
To avoid the deficiencies in the existing technology mentioned above, a pulse electromagnet that is reliable in operation, sensitive in response, fast in action, safe to use, low in energy consumption, low in cost, and widely applicable to various control valves is provided. It is achieved by adding and fixing a rare earth permanent magnet on the armature or the iron core in the existing DC electromagnet. The rare earth permanent magnet can be clamped between the upper and lower armature; it can also be sleeved on the outer circumference of the armature; it can also be fixed on the end face of the armature or the iron core. The lower end of the outer circumference of the armature can be conical, and the front end of the inner hole of the iron core is conical, serving as the guiding part during their attraction. On the side of the upper cover, a microswitch controlled by the impact of a bump block fixed on the upper end of the valve core is installed.
The working principle of the electromagnet after adding a permanent magnet:
In the initial position, the gap between the rare earth permanent magnet on the armature and the iron core is large, resulting in high magnetic reluctance and a small attractive force of the magnet. This valve core will be constrained by the reset spring in the directional control valve, causing the armature to move away from the iron core and remain in the initial position. To activate this pulse electromagnet, it is only necessary to provide an electrical pulse with a pulse width greater than 1/4 second or a direct current (DC) positive excitation current of 1/4 second to the excitation coil. The electromagnetic field generated by the excitation coil will enhance the magnetic field strength of the rare earth permanent magnet, producing an attractive force greater than the force of the reset spring. Consequently, the armature will move the valve core downward until it comes into contact with the iron core. At this point, the gap between the armature and the iron core is very small, and the magnetic reluctance is also very low. The magnetic induction intensity of the rare earth permanent magnet is greatly enhanced. Even after the positive excitation current on the excitation coil is disconnected, the attractive force of the permanent magnet is still greater than the reset force of the reset spring, ensuring that the electromagnet remains reliably in the working state. To return the electromagnet to its initial position, it is only necessary to apply a momentary reverse current to the excitation coil. This will generate a momentary reverse electromagnetic field on the excitation coil to weaken the magnetic field strength of the rare earth permanent magnet, making the attractive force of the permanent magnet smaller than the force of the reset spring on the directional control valve. Consequently, under the force of the reset spring, the armature will be forced to move the valve core away from the iron core and return to its initial constrained position.
Currently, electromagnets are widely used in various industries, and different types of electromagnets are involved for different sectors. We provide design requirements, design conditions, and drawings for online consultation and customization!
